| The following is a general list of the types of equipment recommended for back country travel. You will want to modify this list accordingly for the climate in which you will be traveling. For example, if you are traveling in cold, high-mountain country you will may want to pack additional cold-weather clothing or mountaineering gear. Additionally, if you plan hunt, fish, canoe etc. in wilderness, you will want to pack additional gear needed for such activities.

- Prepare for extreme weather, hazards, and emergencies.
- Schedule your trip to avoid times of high use.

- "Leave Nothing. Take Nothing, Except Memories."
- A wilderness permit is required on all overnight trips. It must be in your possession.
- Maximum group size is 15 people per party, 8 max. for any cross country hiking. Stock use is limited to 25 head.
- Proper food storage is required by law. Use approved bear proof canisters. Food must not be left unattended at anytime. If we pick you up, we have bear proof containers or steel barrels. Report any bear damage or sightings to Park Rangers.
